The new wastewater rulerequires power plants to clean coal ash and toxic heavy metals such as mercury, arsenic and selenium from plant wastewater before it is dumped into streams and rivers. The rule is expected to affect 75 coal-fired power plants nationwide, according to the Environmental Protection Agency.

Answer (1 of 6): It is highly not recommended as seal air prevents coal dust powder to enter in bearing area. Thus running a mill without seal air would damage bearings. For protection, mills do have tripping on lower DP between seal air and primary air pressure. Not a good idea!
