Grab a broom handle ( 30mm dia) and fix one end to fit a 1/2 inch electric hand drill. Get a 5 gallon pail and a bag of black beauty sand blasting grit. Set the weight on top of the pail. Make a dam of plasticine all around the hole. Place the "too large" broom handle against the hole (it won't go through, too big!)
